The website mfrançais.com (hereinafter referred to as « the website ») is an online French course booking platform. This service is offered to users (hereinafter referred to as « the user ») under the following terms and conditions. By purchasing lessons on this website, the user agrees to all the general terms and conditions of sale outlined below.
C1. The website offers online French lessons. Lessons are purchased in the form of lesson credits, which can be bought individually or in packs
C2. The purchase of credits entitles the user to use those credits to book lessons. One lesson credit allows the booking of a 50-minute lesson. 0.5 lesson credit allows the booking of a 25-minute lesson.
C3. The purchase of a trial lesson entitles the user to book a single 25-minute lesson. Once this lesson has been used, the user is no longer eligible to purchase a trial lesson. The trial lesson is a standalone product and is not part of the lesson credit system. It does not entitle the user to a standard lesson.
C4. Lesson credits have a limited validity period. This period is indicated at the time of purchase and is set at 3 months by default, unless a special campaign specifies a different duration. In exceptional cases (e.g., illness, natural disasters), the validity may be extended upon agreement with the teacher.
C5. The purchase of credits is restricted to users who have created an account on the website.
C6. Creating an account requires providing personal information to identify the user.
C7. Lessons are booked using the scheduling tool available in the user account area.
C8. Booking a lesson deducts credits in accordance with the value defined in clause C2. The credit balance is updated as follows:
- upon confirmation of a credit purchase (the corresponding amount is added to the balance),
- upon confirmation of a booking (the corresponding amount is deducted from the balance),
- upon credit restitution (the corresponding amount is added back to the balance).
C9. In the case of credit restitution under the conditions listed below, the value is returned as defined in clause C2.
C10. A lesson can be cancelled if the cancellation is made more than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time; in that case, the credit is refunded. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled time are not allowed, and the credit will be used.
C11. To reschedule a lesson, it must first be cancelled (refer to clause C10 regarding cancellations).
C12. If the student is absent from the lesson, the credit is forfeited.
C13. If the teacher is exceptionally unable to conduct the lesson, the lesson credit will be credited back.
C14. If, due to technical issues beyond the control of both the teacher and the student (e.g., video platform downtime), the lesson cannot take place, the credit will be refunded. This case will be assessed in consultation with the teacher.
C15. Lesson credits are non-refundable once a first booking has been made. By making a first booking, the user expressly waives their right of withdrawal.
C16. A booked lesson begins at the scheduled time and ends either 25 or 50 minutes later, depending on the reserved duration.
C17. Lessons are held via a third-party video conferencing platform, independent from the website. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure they have access to the platform specified on the website.
C18. In the event of changes to the terms of use or the discontinuation of the specified video conferencing platform, the website reserves the right to provide lessons via another platform. Users will be notified of such changes via messaging.
C19. Price increases or decreases (such as promotional offers) do not affect the value of credits already purchased and do not entitle the user to any refund of the difference. The value of a purchased credit remains as defined in clause C2.
C20. The website reserves the right to refuse registration to any user who does not comply with these terms.
C21. The website reserves the right to terminate the account of any user who does not comply with these terms. In such cases—and only in such cases—any remaining unused credits will be refunded, provided they were not obtained fraudulently.
C22. A user may request the closure of their account and the deletion of associated data. Any unused credits at the time of account closure will be forfeited.
C23. Data provided during account creation and service use is used by the website to identify users, contact them if necessary, facilitate bookings, and manage credits.
C24. The collected data is not intended to be shared with third parties. Only the data necessary for payment or for booking via the video conferencing platform is transmitted.
C25. Some data is required by the payment platform used by the website.
C26. Payment-related data is not stored by the website. It is processed exclusively by the payment platform in accordance with standard security protocols.
C27. The video conferencing platform currently used by the website is Google Meet.
